I gained more than 5 hp from my exhaust, more like 20 - 30 hp. But the car is still slow!
Yes i have started considering it, what kind of exhaust is quiet, but not too restrictive for the TII? i get scared when i punch it and everyone can hear me for a mile away. I feel i will get a ticket in 1 sec.
The best overall system--power/noise-- is the Racing Beat turbo back.
I saw a 10AE in my city two days ago with the RB turbo-back. I wanted to talk to the dude, but the car was parked, and I didn't have time to wait for him.
How did you know it was the turbo back exhaust? It could have been just a catback. Did you crawl under his car?

Don't feel bad. I probably haven't gone over 120-130 in my car, but it gets there pretty quickly.
Yeah, your car probably gets there in the time it takes me to get to 80 or so. N/As are sloooooow, but its certainly quick enough for me at the moment.

Well, okay, I guess I don't know whether it was the turbo back or just the cat-back, but it looked ******* sweet. I'm definitely getting the RB cat-back when I can afford it.

I hardly ever take my car out when the roads are dead. So trying any top speed runs can get pretty hairy.

The new Racing Beat exhausts are nicer than the old ones. My brother's turbo back exhaust is the very first model. Mine is the one right after that. What's amazing is that his is over 10 years old, and it's still in good shape.

This one must have been pretty new. It had polished mufflers and tips, but I think the old ones were polished tips and black mufflers.

The old ones were made of stainless like the new ones, right?

No, the old ones were mild steel.

I've had the car up to about 101...takes a bit of time to get there however

Still not sure if my 6ports are opening or not, tried the put the grease and see if it moves trick but the results are inconclusive. Perhaps I ought to wire em shut.

You could probably do all sorts of fun things with an N/A and get a considerable amount of HP out of it but there's a certain point at which it would be cheaper to do a turbo swap. As for myself, I'd love to have both sitting around beefed up but that costs moooney. And as I are gainfully unemployed at the moment moooney is a bit tight.

Meanwhile, I think I'll run a compression test blah blah and see where my car is at...it's not like I can do much to it to make it faster without blowing it to kingdom come. 185k miles ya know.

If anything, you should wire them open, not shut.
