I've not done anything conclusive test wise yet, but it would appear that my 95 neon with auto tranny will out accelerate my RX-7. Now this could be a grass is always greener type thing, or the torque factor of the rotary but it's kinda unnerving.

I've also noticed that other cars on the road seem to have no trouble getting up to speed faster then my 7.

Now I'm not expecting that a stock 2nd gen with 185k miles is going to be FAST mind you but REALLY.

I'm reasonably sure my cat is plugged or not good, so that could be part of the factor....straight pipe here I come.

You are gonna realize pretty quick that you can't shift gears the same way as normal cars. You have to rev the sucker up and shift between 4k-5k rpm just to avoid embarrassment. Porting and/or exhaust mods will further deteriorate the bottom end torque https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

That's why I get pissed off when people say wiring the 6 port actuators kills the low end performance, like we had any to begin with!

Shifting between 4 and 5K? Only if the cops are behind me. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

A straight pipe to replace the cat will add a bit of power, even if the current one isn't plugged. Do your 6-ports work properly?

my gtu didn't really move unless you went to 8400 rpm then it felt at home https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Heh, I am hoping shifting between 4-5k would be enough to overcome a neon and avoid embarrassment.

Oh I've taken the car all the way to redline before, but not in traffic of course https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Again I've not tested it, it just seems that the Neon was quicker, could be the torque bit you know how that goes.

Not checked the 6ports, not done much of anything to it other then a TPS adjustment and oil change....as usual I get one that runs and I get busy or money goes bye bye *sniffles* Maybe this weekend or next...if UniqueTII comes down perhaps he can drive it and see what he thinks.

Otherwise I'm grousing without looking. Vosko and 13BAce are supposed to fix it without me looking at it or touching it with just a thought!

Compression tests scare me. I dont' wanna know, 185k on the clock...maybe if I pretend I don't see it it'll run longer :bigok:

I can't tell if my feet are to freaking big or I'm clumsy but heel/toe downshifting in this car is funky. .. .
