!987 RX-7 starts but shuts off immediately

I am new to the RX-7 car and need a few ideas of what to look for. I've replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump, it has spark and actually starts, but then shuts off immediately. I can then restart but it shuts off again. Any ideas?

I've had the exact same thing happen to me, when the air flow meter (AFM) was unplugged. It's that hunk of metal on your intake tube between the filter and the intake manifold.

mine did it because the hose came loose off the back of it... from the top looked normal at a glance.. drove me nuts! rookie tech here pointed it out to me!
