Default 89 RX7 won't start-need help

I have an 89 RX7 that I have owned for over a year. I have never had a problem with it until about four days ago. I parked it in the garage and removed the factory radio to replace it with an aftermarket stereo. When I realized the aftermarket player didn't work I reinstalled the factory radio. Now it won't start. The car has spark in all plugs and is getting fuel. It is turning over but won't start. I have tried the normal procedure to clear any engine flooding. Any help or ideas would be great.

Hello red89convertible,

This would normally be an issue with an alarm system tied into or connected
through the radio. Even an aftermarket alarm system tied into the radio could
cause your symptoms. Also check all the wiring around the radio as the dash
harness is connected to the ECU. You might try disconnecting the battery
as this may clear your problem. I'm not an expert on RX7 electrical but I have
been servicing Foreign and Domestic autos for over 37 years.

Hope this helps...

Did this get resolved? I seem to be having a similar issue but I only bought my first 87 rx7 a couple days ago. (This is my first post) Did you ever get it fixed?
