I swapped an 87 FI 13B into another car and finally got it running - it fires right up and appears to run pretty well - will tach up pretty decently when cold, but after it's warm, when you hit the gas it sputters and pops and after a couple seconds it will eventually rev up, but something is definitely wrong. It could be my wiring??? any suggestions what to check or any diagnosis??? please help - i'm stuck

the motor is now in a 79 mgb. I removed the motor from a running 87 from a police impound. I tried to keep everything as stock as possible and all the hoses look to be in good condition. it starts riigh up and idles fine (runs a little over 2k until it warms up then drops to 900-1000. only when i hit the gas it sputters and runs like crap. i know there are those large solenoid looking things on the exhaust ports - i thought maybe those weren't working right - should they be opening when i hit the gas??

check your vacuum lines (hoses)...again..pop them off and put them back on..slight leak=crap..if you had a mainifold(intake) leak ..that would do it too......do you know if the compression is good?..how is the timing?. di you adjust the TPS after it warmed up ?..stuff to mull over

change the plugs and wires. at least change the plugs, if the motor is in an mgb why have emissions? ide just gut them, they cuase too many problems, did you make sure the right vacuum lines were hooked up to the right place? a few vacuum lines should only be ran a certain way, like the one going from the dinamic chamber to the lower intake is for fuel atomization at low rpms, and so on... so all of your emissions are intact? smog pump and all?

FI = Fuel Injection

wiring shouldnt be your problem, if idle is ok...

check vacuum hoses, tps setting, and TIMING
