i think you are crazy. isnt the fd fast enough? when you do, do it though we already know how https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png so it should be super easy

mike

vosko 09-01-2002 11:21 PM

i figure it should cost around $10k. in reality car would take 6months to a year to fix and build. i want my TII to be my race car. my FD i guess will be daily driver. i'll have to drive it at 5psi https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

j9fd3s 09-02-2002 11:02 AM

10k and 6 months is no problem at all. the biggest part of the swap money wise is the motor itself (40%), and time wise its stupid little things like exhaust flanges.

Vosco gives his time frame in dog years, so this will actually take him 3.5 years to do. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

vosko 09-02-2002 01:56 PM

now to find $10k https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

sidewinderx7 09-02-2002 02:11 PM

I thought about doing that, and putting the TII engine in my 1st gen. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Maybe I will when i get back from alaska...

imjailbird 09-03-2002 01:03 AM

im in alaska too! i hav a '87 n/a and found a 20b that is a drop in for $4000 minus a computer. i also will need a tranny too. if anyone has info on both please help!

vosko got a **** load of credit, thats y he has two 7's

vosko 09-04-2002 02:47 AM

credit doesn't buy cars.... you need $$$$ to buy cars :(

treceb 09-04-2002 01:40 PM

ok, im guessing the e11 or tec III are made to handle 3 rotors.

how would one go about ignition??

does anyone have a ny spec on the engine, size, weight, etc.?

thanks

vosko 09-04-2002 01:42 PM

the tec III comes with its own ignition

the 20b is basically 3 13b rotors together. so its 654cc x 3 = 1962cc's.

they came stock with twin sequential turbos, like the fd.

stock the engines were rated at 297hp and 280? lbs/ft.

its came in the jc cosmo, www.dmrh.net

thanks, but i was looking at making a sorta dummy and see if itll be a pain to stick in a SA. Im pretty sure by the time my current rebuild expires(hoping for at least 2 years), ill have saved up enough for something stoopid like that. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

plus there are too many ppl with daily TII SAs.

nah, im having side seal problems. i think the engine sat too long and they seized. waiting on a friend to use his rotors and side seals. After that its a matter of putting it together. it should be ready to get spanked by NA 6 cylinder supras.
