Today i took the GXL out for a drive, and i noticed that when i would brake the stop light on the dashboard would come on. It never does that or never did and today it was doing it. Looks like a big spotlight and says "Stop".



My second question is for the window motor (passenger side), when i press the button on the driver side i can only raise the passenger window , i cant lower it. The passenger control can only lower the window but not raise it. Now today none of the controls werked and i couldnt close the passenger window so i lowered it all the way then raised it and as its moving up i grabbed it and pulled it up, then it went up all by itself. Now is it the window controls or can it be that the passenger motor needs to be cleaned and lubed up to function properly.

 

the stop lamp usually means you have a tail light out. as far as the window problems go i would take both switches out and apart (very easy) and clean the contacts. reinstall and see if that fixes the problem. if not then its your motor needing to be redone or relubed

 

You could also have brake system hydraulic leak.

You could also be dangerously low on brake fluid.



Be careful to control the tiny springs & contacts when cleaning the window switches.

 

for the cleaning just go buy some contact cleaner used for computer boards... it comes in a spray can and just evaporates off, works really good.
