Default 1990 RX-7 aft. market air filter

I ordered an Air filter and adaptor. I don't see anywhere to mount the adaptor. I disconnected to plug on the side of the air box and the air hose. Is it ok to just install the filter right to the intake hose that goes to the motor. What do i need to do with the plug and the hose i took off?

What filter did you order?

I believe only the S4 need to use the adapter, S5 intake can just mount the filter directly onto the MAF.

Make sure nothing is lose, and all plugs are connected before you start the engine.

i just ordered a filter from L3 racing. I was just trying to figure out if it was ok to start without the mass air flow plug and the air pump hose disconnected. and if it is ok what do i need to do with the plug/hose. what will happen if i run it with those two things disconnected

It's not ok to start without the MAF plug, the engine won't be able to properly sense the amount of air flow, and the engine will die after you start it.

Air pump hose is for emission purposes, the engine won't pass emission testing if the hose is not connected.
