I HAVE A 1990 20B COSMO JCES-S. IT IS 100% STOCK AS A ROCK. I RAN OUT OF FUEL A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO AND IT HASN'T STARTED AGAIN SINCE. I REPLACED THE FUEL FILTER (THINKING IT MAY HAVE BEEN BLOCKED) AND IT STILL HASN'T MADE A DIFFERENCE. I TOOK IT OUT FOR A BIT OF A FLOGGING A FEW MONTHS BACK AND IT OVER-HEATED HARDCORE (RED LINE ON THE TEMP GAUGE) AND SINCE THAT NIGHT IT HAS BEEN REALLY HARD TO START ( HAVE TO HOLD THE KEY ON FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND PUMP HE ACCELERATOR).

IT HAS BOUT 110,000KM ON THE CLOCK. SOME PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME WHEN THEY START TO OVER-HEAT AND HARD TO START, THE MOTOR IS SHAGGED N NEEDS A REBUILD

IS THIS TRUE??

OR DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR WHAT I COULD TRY TO GET IT GOING AGAIN

THERE IS A LITTLE PART INSIDE ME THAT IS SORTA HOPING IT DOES NEED A REBUILD. THAT WOULD BE A GOOD ENOUGH EXCUSE FOR ME TO DO SOME SERIOUS MODS TO IT. GOT SOME IDEAS AND CONTACTS FOR AROUND 500HP.

ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED

CHEERS TOM

Keep in mind i have no experience with the 20b.

You could have coolant seeping in and wetting the plugs due to the overheat. Or the spark plugs could just be toast from the trauma.

Take the spark plugs out, best way to tell whats going on in the combustion chamber.
