I was checking things out on the net, and found these pics of a retro Cosmo at the recent Tokyo Auto Salon. I think it is ugly, and yet cool at the same time. Apparently it is powered by the same 13B Renesis engine that is in the RX-8.

Hey Isamu, your right there. I personally think they should leave the cosmo as it was. It was Mazda's first production rotor and is a classic in it's own right. I don't mind conversions but I have a soft spot for the Cosmos and it just looks wrong. Anyhow had me bitch!

Hey Isamu. They technically didn't release them here either, though I believe there's 4 or 5 in the country. I've actually found one and I'm trying to strike up a deal with the guy, but as you would probably expect he's not too keen to part with it. I'll get though if it's the last thing I do!

Thats cool!

What part of Japan did you travel too. I spent some time down in the city of Iwakuni in Yamaguchi prefecture, and in Osaka. I was there on an internship. Before I left I picked up an autotrader type magazine so I could drool over it forever. There are some really nice sevens in there. I remember I had to pass by this auto dealership place on my way into the city, and there was this yellow 3rd gen sitting on the lot. Man, I wanted to test drive it or something, but I never did. Next time!

I was there close to 2 weeks. All but 3 days I spent in Ebisu prefecture, Tokyo. The other 3 between Osaka and Kyoto. I really liked the ppl in osaka better. They, for some reason, seemed nicer. Next time im going down to Hiroshima, mazda museum. But i want to learn some japanese first.

Loved everything about it.

I visited the Peace Park in Hiroshima, and went to a car show there, but I never went to the Mazda museum. Did you have some Osaka-style Okonomiyaki? Oushi! Damn, that stuff is good. I never had a problem there, all the people were very nice. I am hoping now that I am done with school, I can get a job over there. I have looked into the JET program, and have talked to a few people who have done it. Sounds good to me, I guess I will just see what happens. BTW, ain't nothing like buying beer out of a vending machine.
