[quote name='IGY' date='Aug 18 2005, 08:08 PM']Microtech LTX 12

Electomotive Tec 1 w/wintec2 upgrade

Motec M4

I have used all 3 of these on 20b's, and I like the Motec the best so far except for the price. The Microtech would have to be second because of the price, but it is about even with the Tec as far as ease of use.

Because I am a cheap bastard that only really cares about what I need and not all the bells and whistles that I will never use, I would go with a microtech, because when it is all said and done it's only fuel and spark.

I've heard Microtechs control timming pretty well. I also know of 2 people that have had fuel maps randomly dump for no apparent reason.

That's funny, because I have personally had the TEC do this to me twice. Every EMS has glitches and 90% of them are from user error.

This is cool, talking about problems with diff EMS's.

Anybody love the Microtech's little quirk where when you scroll to 5000rpm's on the high load page of the map it jumps to the low load page? They may have fixed this problem by now since it's been a couple of years since I played with it. I know Dragon could tell you about all the damn cussing I was doing when it would happen.

i had an e6x that was bug free, but the early e11v2 i had was a stinker. car ran great except when the ecu would crash and go into boot mode, leaving you stuck.

funniest time was when we were driving it to the shop (paul was following me), and it went into boot mode, it says "ecu in boot mode contact your haltech dealer" i looked at paul and he just shrugged.

car ran much better when i pulled the ecu out from under the carpet and let it dangle in the air

The Motec M4 is only for N/A 20B's though... you'll need a M48 or M800 (i think) to run on a boosted 20B

Overheating, yes, but that's supposed to be fixed now.

Injector drivers burning out?

That's a new one to me.

BTW, where are you getting this info from?

A Microtech owner?
