I mean ,if you take the little engine and put it into a heavier vehicle,

does it start to bog out?

Will the rotary stand up to the weight?

I mean we know that it it tremendous bar none almost,butttt.

CAn the rotary perform under a heavier load with the minimum

damage?

I don't understand the relavance of the question... how heavy of a car are you putting it in for starters, are you using a clutch or an AT, and what's the difference between the 20B and other motors being placed in a high-load situation? If it has enough torque you will move, if not, than it will put additional stress on the whole system, not just the motor.

I have been needing a pickup truck for a long while,

I didnt see anything at all that caught my eye so I

bought myself and my wife a honda each (for realyability

only).

Now its time for my truck but I want a rotary too.

So I figure why not combine the two and see if I can

get the front wheels off of the ground,hehe.

I'm not offended, just trying to help answer your question with additional info since the question wasn't clear to me. If you had something like a ford ranger/B2200 pickup which are essentially the same thing, that would most likely have enough torque to lift up the front tires with a blower off the line Sounds like fun. The question isn't complicated, the project you're inquiring about is.



For the amount of money required to do a 20B conversion, just do a small block V8 with a carb if you want to lift the tires off the ground, peel out all the time, etc. Be much cheaper, easier, and all the local garages can help with the motor if something breaks, that and matching up drivetrains will be easier as well. Not that I'm putting down the 20B potential project, it's just not an easy thing to jump into and will cost a lot to do it properly.

 

we hooked up a trailer (full size) with a car on it and his stock 87 b2000 had no problems pulling it around on flat ground. so stage 2 is a 20b 1987 b2600 (now b2000 har har) with a class 5 hitch to tow with, it should do really well, the 13b has more torque than the 4 cylinder so the 20b should be even better.
