A good day to all,

After 2 hours with the search function, I thought I'd bite the bullet and post a query regarding the many(?) different series of the 20b motor. I faintly remember reading a post which covered all the series with specific mention to the 'D' series being stronger(?) or with better redesigns.

Thank you very much in advance to any who can help me out on this. Just for knowledge's sake =)

Cheers

they were numbered like this

0-999

A series is A0-A999

B series is B0-B999

C series is C0-C999

D series is D0-D999

the later the engine the better. the irons get thicker, and the eshaft is better too. i wanna say the change was with the start of the D series, but i'm not sure.

and also its not like the earlier engines suck

Sorry for being long-winded, I forgot to add this question into the first post as well.

How do I tell which series a 20b block is from? Visual identification cues or similar?

Thanks in advance.

the numbers were stamped into the top of all the housings. if they've been ground out, then its been rebuilt somewhere along the line
