Personally, Id just take a saw to the tranny tunnel, but thats just me.

that "shift box" has an alignment pin under it. u may not be able to get it off the housing til u get the housing pulled off the tranny enough to get the other end of the shifter rod loose from where it moves the shift forks and then pry up slightly on it to get it up over that pin.

That's exactly what I ended up doing.



I'm using that pin instead of the set screw for the frankenstein transmission though. I couldn't find the right size screw and the pin works just fine.
