sounds like you have one hellofa vac leak to allow it to rev that high. maybe the secondary blades a stuck open a little? Is your brake booster hooked up?

I found somemore to my problem.If I let it rev it will go to 6800rpm then die out with a nice flame. 
I think it might be a timing related problem.Not to sure which way the dizzy goes in the engine tho when you line everything up on it.Does it go in so the tally points towards the alternator????

wait...you have a fuel injected engine in your FB? I was thinking 12a carb. But anyways.. If it will rev to 6800 the throttle must be open. I don't think any vac leak could cause it to rev that high...well unless you didn't hook up any of the vac lines on the car
