ok so the 84 has been sitting for a while. Went to start it the other day and get nothing but "click click" So I fire up the Bronco get the tow ropes and drag it up the drive way. Get in roll down drive way pop the clutch and nothing! It ran fine before it sat for a about a month. last thing I did was take the headlight relay out for my dads car. any ideas?

Is it cranking? If it's not cranking, then something's wrong with the starter. If it's a new starter, are you sure it's wired correctly?

If it was the starter it would start during a push start....but how far did you let it roll before you poped the clutch?

The length of a driveway wont do it after a month, unless you change alot of stuff to new or extremely clean. Id Try it again, get someone to pull you with the bronco(thats what I use), ride in second with the clutch and the choke out and the pedal full. Its probably just a dead battery.

Ive had to tow my car with it running in 2nd gear at 3000rpm for like 2 miles before it came to life. It would keep spitting and sputtering and die when i pushed in the clutch. Eventually it stayed running on its own. New spark plugs help a lot.

ok, you have to have a good charged battery to pop start it, cause you need something for a spark. I'd say give it a charge or replace the battery

Once the alt starts spinning you have power. You dont even need to have a battery in the car.
