use a volt meter or a test light, look in the radio harness for the dimmer wire test the wire with a test light by turning the lights on and off and find the wire that switches with the light switch.

I concur with the other posts... I have 'diagrams', several in fact, none of them proved to be very close to accurate. I ran new wire for the running lights, all the way back to the fuse box/switch, that rat's nest had been 'reconfigured' by one or more of the several previous owners.

iluvmyrx7.com has the wiring diagrams, and I have found them to be pretty accurate.

the wiring diagrams are good if you can get one where you can follow colors in wires, but for placement of stuff, they are useless. I spent hours looking under my dash for a horn relay that was under the bonnet.
