The mariah site tells you how wide to run to look right with it.Remember you'll need that much more hp to push it around at speed.Thats why I think its still in the air about the CP kit. Try mariahs site and see what they recomend the site is listed in the site thread thats pinned at the top.

Prolly need 16x10's in the rear then. The CP kit doesn't seem as wide as a IMASA kit.

stticsthug69 03-13-2003 10:52 PM

thanks how much more power would i need to push it as fast as the cp body kit do any of you have pics of the cp ive never seen it and would love to take a look and whats the mariah site ? thanks

BTW a widebody kit will take away 30hp or more depending on how wide it is.Just because the car works harder to move the wheels and deflect air off the new stance it has. You'll need a extra 30hp just to make up the difference of going widebody with those huge wheels.

j9fd3s 03-14-2003 11:58 AM

not to mention finding 265-295 tires in 16"

i want a body kit on my 85 gsl se but i dont want to lose power i want to lose weight and add style and power do you guys know any kits

Racer X 03-15-2003 12:39 PM

I'm thinking of the Mazdatrix/Erebuni kit myself.I think its the best looking one on the FB body other than the Japanese ARF kits.Heres Viperx7 car with the kit I want on it.Notice the shaved sidemarkers. My 83 is in the middle of shaving them and the badges as well.I can wait to do it to the 82 after I get that thing running. He modified the front to accept round fogs which I think look way better than the square ones.

If your looking at just the front Bumper I would look at the mariah mode four front.Looks awesome.

Thats why I'll prolly not go widebody.Just too wide unless you want to build a show car.I already have a T2 setup and plan on building it for power and speed so it just doesn't work with my plans.Oh well.Erebuni here I come. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I have to add my two cents worth and say that I like the Kaminari kit better. You can see it here. I like the looks of the widebody kits, but over time the body kits don't seem to age as well as just a simple body kit. Plus, for street performance, they seem counter-productive except for looks.

Racer X 03-16-2003 02:52 AM

Kaminari was one I was considering too.But I changed my mind on the stock body lines.I hear the fit is awesome tho.Heres the pics of it.

Hey, I never noticed that. Thats looks pretty good. I might look into doing that on my car. Prolly makes the respray easier too. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Racer X 03-16-2003 09:41 PM

Yeah easier and cheaper because they dont have to pull them off to paint it.Can't wait till I finish it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

drifter 03-16-2003 09:44 PM

I wanna get a spirit R badge for the front and take off the front mazda badge. I'll recolor the side badges and I'm not sure if I'll get rid of the rear badge yet... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

Racer X 03-16-2003 09:47 PM

I shaved the antenna, badges and side markers on the 83.The 82 will get the same treatment but will prolly have a roof mount antenna instead.

drifter 03-16-2003 09:50 PM

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif oh yeah...antenna....hadn't thought about that either...hmm. I don't listen to the radio, I've always got CD's on, so I prolly dont need one at all. maybe while I'm welding in the roof repairs I can fit a little one to the roof.

Racer X 03-16-2003 10:04 PM

Yeah I hate the stock antenna location.Reminds me to much of a RC car. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

drifter 03-16-2003 10:07 PM

https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif so true! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683785.gif

Smog Fighter 03-16-2003 10:23 PM

My antenna idea is to get the one that GM is using for their On-Star system.

it is @ 3" tall, has a wide base that tapers up to the tip. it also has a spiral

cut into it. I think it would look good dead center on the roof.

drifter 03-16-2003 10:26 PM

Center? As in forward center? what about the removable sunroof?

Smog Fighter 03-16-2003 10:39 PM

Yup just in front of it!!

Racer X 03-16-2003 10:41 PM

Racer X 03-16-2003 10:46 PM

I would try to mount it thier or just behind the roof.Depends on the style of antenna you get.

Smog Fighter 03-16-2003 10:53 PM

Racer X 03-16-2003 11:01 PM

Racer X 03-16-2003 11:19 PM

I like the Ford focus antenna or the new VW's one.

drifter 03-16-2003 11:24 PM

yeah, thats about the right size. Are they one solid piece of plastic or flexble antennas?

ps nice avatar https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png
