I am building a peripheral port 12a and will be running at least a Weber 48ida. It is necessary to upgrade the stock pressure regulator and fuel pump and if so what should I go with?

I don't know much about fuel systems for carbureted engines except that the fuel pressure is quite low

 

A Holley blue with regulator should work fine. You can usually get them as a kit for around $110, give or take. Check with Advance Auto or Summit.

 

What fuel pressure should I be running?
