Weird Engine Trouble

ok this is haed to explain but i will try my best i was going down the road about 70 and i speed up to pass a semi i get about half way down the side and the engine looses all power instinct told me to pull the choke so i babbyed it in to town with the cnoke out doin 40 when i got to the bottom of the off ramp a stoplight it all startrd working normal any idese appreciated thanx
