Well aside from it being so f'n hot...we did get a lot accomplished. Got some new paving thrown down, had to shove the at-that-time non-running FB project out of the way...turned out great though.

Onto the car.. lots of people said I couldn't do it. ....but i knew it could be done since mazda used nothing but stock 12A ported 650 carbed cars in the 80s..and racing beat told me it could be done, lol.

So after about 5 hours of tuning on the carb, we were able to get it where it needed to be. Tried at least 20 different settings before finding a good one.

Car revs strong now, idles at 1500-1700RPM and i was able to drive it around a little. The final tuning will be done after bodywork, but i know it wont be too terrible after what little driving i did this weekend.

Pics coming shortly....

First pic is of the poor car pushed aside...

Second is as it sits, next to the other white beater-project..all I can say is i'm glad I'm an import guy! The FB even w/ the rust looks soo much better, lol...

Oh, and since i'm in a giving mood, I'll fork over the carb settings:

as it sits right now:

- jets are 62 left/right

- squirter is at a 41

- accelerator pump c-clip is at the 3rd mark

This seems to work pretty well for us right now, but may change jetting/squirter after final road tuning...

The cams and squirters are gonna be critical to your tunning. Thats quite a large carb, even for a 13b.

Yea, I'm sure I'll have to make some adjustments during on-road tuning... the car is back at my parents place now though as I'm moving and needed a temp place for it to stay.
