Here's my question,I have a Weber 48 IDA & I want to install it on my 12a. I have not ported it yet 'cause it is still running very strong at 120,000kms. If I change the main venturis to a smaller dia. & rejet, can I get away with it OR do I have to pull the motor & have some porting done before I install it??

You might be able to detune it with a fuel pressure regulator instead of playing with the carb.Hows the fitting of your ultra rare pacifica kit coming ernie?I'm telling you after it fits you need to get a body shop to make some molds of it for spare panels. They can be handy if a slight fender bender occurs.

wodultn u get amuch better power curve with the stock carb, rather then the webber 48 on an otherwise stock engine? i wonder how much more power u can gain and what will happen to low end.

The only thing that I have done to the engine is to install RacingBeat headers & exhaust.I know that a Weber can increase HP considerably.

Need a bigger, better exhaust before you install a bigger, better intake. Obviously you have the exhaust done, so the installing the carb will increase power significantly. If you were to put a bigger, better carb on a stock exhaust, you'd probably lose power if anything. You already knew that, I was just stating that for the people that didnt.

You'll probably only get 10-15hp more than with the stock carb. But you won't have to worry at all about getting a bigger carb once you get it ported.
