Will you use the stock gauges, or aftermarket?
The way I see it , is, use the dash gauges with the original wiring harness and senders for the car. Nice and stock. Add the Boost and A/F as necessary to enhance the info you need when you drive. And DON'T forget the Oil level I D 10 T light! Then, under the hood, I am going to run a full mechanical set for tuning purposes. Minus the boost and tach. my thoughts.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png |

the 83 cluster will work fine. i like electrical guages except for the boost guage, then i like mechanical. with mechanical guages you have to plum oil or coolant into the car, and that doesnt exactly seem like fun
mike ~Luis [/quote] the cool thing about the s4 is that the ecu doesnt freak about anything, so you can wire up the stuff you want and ignore the rest. all the guages function the same so you just need to find the sender wires and hook 'em up mike |
Sweet. You guys more than answered my questions, thanks. I've seen a couple of cars with the boost guage in the air duct now, seems like the thing to do. I'll most likely be running autometer guages, they seem to have a HUGE range and also seem good quality.
That is a pimp interior. I wanted to get a-pillar guage mounts, but I need right-hand drive ones and I haven't had any luck finding them here in Australia. |
Check the JAPANESE sites, they're all RHD. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

where did u get the "A" pillar pod thing from??
It's an Autometer 2nd Gen one. It fits almost perfect from the factory. 2 Minutes with a heat Gun, and it did fit perfectly. Thats a pimp interior you have. That panel under the steering wheel gives a sleeper effect when it hangs like that. Damn. Cold. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif I wasn't finished with the wiring at the time of that pic. |

Thanks a million.Damn I wish that guy would atleast update the wiring part of his page. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/dry.png I need to figure out what can and can't be pulled off the main harness.Where does this harness tap into on the FB wiring? Thanks ~Luis |
One more thing......do I wire the coils to the FC's ECU setup or just wire them to the FBs wiring for the coils?
Thanks ~Luis BTW: I know this must be annoying for you but I need this info so I can share it with others like drifter when his time comes. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png |
