today I was driving my 83 rx-7 and when I stopped I opened the hood. The car was off and the carb was still pumping fuel or something. I pulled the fuel pump fuse and it was still pumping fuel. the fuel was up to the jets in the carb. I tryed to start the car after that and, I'm sure it was flooded, but it wouldn't start and alot of smoke started coming out of the exhaust. I dont know much about carbs but I think it might be the floats. anyone else have this problemor know whats going on?

Well float issues could definetely cause that a carb rebuild is fairly simple and the rebuild kits are cheap, you can also buy a pre-rebuilt carb, but I dunno what it would cost.

Mine did the same thing when I bought it. Quick fix: Pull the fuel pump fuse and let the car die out when you arrive at your destinaiton:

Less quick fix: rebuild carb, test vent solinoid

Even slower fix: Pull 12a, drop in 13b from GSL-SE (<-- that's what I did!)
