I'm thinking I'd like to swap in a good used engine into my car for this summer just so I don't have to drive my pickup all summer because that would be depressing. Since GSL-SE six-ports are a bit scarce I was wondering about using a 2d gen short block. I've been getting conflicting information about this. I think it's established that by using my oil pan and front cover, the engine will bolt right in and manifolds bolt right on. What seems to be a point of contention is the injectors. Do the 2d gen engines have the holes in the centre iron for my injectors? I don't want to switch to a 2d gen intake and computer.

Cheers

J

I asked the man and he said the 86 and up NA block will bolt right up after you change the front cover and oil pan.

my gsl-se ran an s4 block for over 10 years. the only thing that doesnt line up are the air injection ports, so it will never ever pass smog. everything else works.

WHY do you have to change the front cover? Because of the oil pan with different motor mounts?
