my car has been doing something strange for a while now but im just now getting around to posting about it. when im going through the rpms in all gears at 3500 there is a power jump. it almost feels like boost coming on. this is anytime im accelerating, but more noticeable when im just going normally or slowly. any ideas?

another thing... for a while now, when i start the car up after ive driven and turned it off, but its still warm, the first time through the gears it smokes at every shift. it was doing it the other night so i stopped and checked it out and it actually smokes for a long time, but stops as soon as i go through all of the gears. even if i rev it for a while. does that make any sense?

sounds like side seals are not sealing as well as they once where. my fc did that , turns out i had weak side spring and pitted oil ring.

Is your car an -SE? The 6-ports open up around there.

Wire them open and see if it still happens, they could be a little sticky or something and not open as progressively as they should.
