are the fb plugs the same size as the fc? really what my question is is will they take the same socket?

Yes, I use FC and FD plugs along with FB plugs. Same size.

Racing Beat catalog lists (2) different plugs Factory # BR8EQ14 for city driving and BR9EQ14 for highway driving these are for years '74 - '85 and are NKG plugs.. the gap is stated to be .015"

I've used BR8EQ-14 for city and highway driving. I just picked up four BUR7EQ plugs for two engines running DLIDFIS. The plugs are stock FC leading plugs and they'll go into the leading holes since the leading ignition is upgraded to direct fire on both engines. The trailing ignition is still stock FB through the cap, so the stock BR8EQ-14 are recommended there.

Just a little info for you incase you ever upgrade to direct fire like so many other 1st gen owners have. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

is there any problem running the br9eq 14s if most of my driving is city?

I didn't want to open up a can of worms here ... and I can't see any difference in the specs on the plugs from here .. you might check out their more info button.... the biggest difference I can tell is from being a 12A to a 13B engine

Shane.Trammell 01-11-2005 11:41 PM

im not that worried about it. its not like its a race car or something

if theres a prob with those ill just go with the fc setup, ie. leading/trailing.
