are the fb plugs the same size as the fc? really what my question is is will they take the same socket?
|
Yes, I use FC and FD plugs along with FB plugs. Same size.
|
thanks a lot!
|
are there diff T and L plugs for the fb? the one im working on has all the same and the parts store only has one number listed for them. this is the same store where i buy plugs for my fc and they have L and T listed for it.

Racing Beat catalog lists (2) different plugs Factory # BR8EQ14 for city driving and BR9EQ14 for highway driving these are for years '74 - '85 and are NKG plugs.. the gap is stated to be .015"
|
ok thanks a lot!

I've used BR8EQ-14 for city and highway driving. I just picked up four BUR7EQ plugs for two engines running DLIDFIS. The plugs are stock FC leading plugs and they'll go into the leading holes since the leading ignition is upgraded to direct fire on both engines. The trailing ignition is still stock FB through the cap, so the stock BR8EQ-14 are recommended there.
Just a little info for you incase you ever upgrade to direct fire like so many other 1st gen owners have. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png |
is there any problem running the br9eq 14s if most of my driving is city?
|
I didn't want to open up a can of worms here ... and I can't see any difference in the specs on the plugs from here .. you might check out their more info button.... the biggest difference I can tell is from being a 12A to a 13B engine
|
im not that worried about it. its not like its a race car or something
if theres a prob with those ill just go with the fc setup, ie. leading/trailing. |
Listen to jeff, I am running BUR7EQ in the leading and BUR9EQ in the trail. I have a 2nd gen direct fire conversion.

BR9EQ-14 may be a little cold. Here is some trivia for you. Which plugs did the HC Luce use? BR7EQ-14! That's a hot plug. It was for an automatic tranny luxury car. The sedentary driving style requires a hotter plug to keep deposits from building up. You can probably use BR9EQ-14 in your engine and have no problems, but just remember to open the secondaries from time to time and drive it hard now and then. You know, typical RX-7 style driving. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

oh there will be no problem in that area. |
They ought to stay clean then. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png Be careful wth cold starts and try to avoid flooding etc.

Mine are wired open and I dove it like I stole it........untill it went pop. Looking forward to the possibilities of another motor now.

In Germany we get BR8ET from NGK for the 1Gen Models. I Think for you in States you need BR9ET, because you cannot go so fast https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png
|
we can get the 8s but they are special order at most places
|
BR8ET only has three grounds. BR8EQ-14 has four.
