So I bought this short throw shifter from ebay, installing it was straight forward but the bushings just didn't fit. After cranking down the three bolts the shifter didnt even want to move. I wound up having to remove the spring shims top and bottom. The shifter also throws left and right shorter so it dont want to return to center neutral anymore.

The shifter it self is a two piece, where the factory shifter is molded together with rubber this one screwes together. The top half threads were diffrent than stock, I wanted the stock look so i had to do slight fabrication to achieve this goal.

EBAY ITEM

I installed this in my 85 GS

I like the distance between gears, i'm running a stock 12a and can now light up 2nd gear and chirp 3rd. The only thing I dont like other than the fab work I had to put in it is how tight it feels, they give you a new top bushing, you have to use your old bottom bushing and your old top bushing wont fit with there kit. I'll take a video tommorow and you can see how it works for me.

As far as ebay that guy has a bunch of them and basicly will sell them for $85 plus shipping, just enter your max bid to $85, someone always outbids you but he gives you a second chance offer. This way he can sell two of them in the same auction.

here is a short video of the shifter, you can see what i'm talking about with the stiff side to side motion.

shifter video i took tonight, poor lighting.

I'll take another one driving in the day.
