you have to have something there, because the ac is in between the blower and the heater. you can do three things

1. leave it alone

2. gut it

3. buy bypass tube for a non ac car

Hmm, might do number 1 for now, and 3 later.

Thanks. :bigthumg:

Now I see exactly what you mean about the air con being between the heater and blower. I had fun dripping coolant all over my carpet when I removed the blower too. :squint:

My car is now just bare metal. :smirk:

Oh, btw, can you see the size of the rust hole where the aircon was bolted on near the top of the dash. Arrrghh. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/violin.gif

hmm, I paid AUS$2200 for this one, but that is really good, the cheapest I've seen is $2000 but it was damaged and unliscensed. Usually about AUS$3500 - $5000 depending on transmission and body condition. (Manuals are more expensive)

To find a first gen in really good condition is like trying to find rocking horse ****. Its damn near impossible. Theres about 5 to 10 series 1's (79-81) advertised around for sale in the paper every week, but not many later series. A second gen is about AUS$8000 for a crappy one. There also pretty rare.
