alright heres another update! As you all remember i couldn't get the car to idle below 1500 rpm with the 79 carb on there. So last sunday i swapped in a 83 carb i had on hand. That acctually helped with the idle but i was having troubles with the timing, which ment i couldn't tune the carb so i played with the dizzy until i thought "why not just run locked timing? so i removed the vaccum advance from the carb and drove it. Not really any batter so i put it back on (vaccum advance) and guess what happened? The friggin thing somehow went back to perfectly timed. How the hell did that happen? oh well anyway it was timed then. Great! Now i can tune the carb. Got the carb running considerably better. Now the car idles at 700 rpm doesn't die on me, and reves up pretty nicely, only a little hick-up around 5500 rpm when the secondaries go full out. So next on my list is suspension. Thinking about trying to find 84-85 perches with spindles, and mosier rear axles, so i can do the big brake upgrade as well as put motegi tracklite wheels on her. Of course i am going to put new springs and shocks on her as well. However i do not think i want a camber kit. The physics of the suspension would require recalibration, And well, I am not a physics major....

got my first kill today against a supped 1996 honda. HAHAHA, the guy thought he had more under the hood then I did. Now i have seen the car before. It has a header, aftermarket ecu, cam gears, lowered, v-tec. I STILL STOMPED ALL OVER HIM. he had openned her up at two areas. You could tell by the puff of extra gas from the exhaust. I was doing 4k in second on the first round and i put my foot into it and took it up to 6k eating up the distance. so he gave up. probably thought that the down hill was what was making me faster. so he gets to a strait away and opens it up again. I shift to third and open her up all the way. I EASILY OUT PROFORMED THE HONDA. I mean i was in fourth before he was in third HAHAHAHAH. I passed him and took a 30 mph corner at 60 mph and left him in tread marks.LOL it was the most fun i have had in a long time.......remember boys and girls i still have the stock suspension and two bad front shocks.... not to mention the 28 year old springs.

I talked with my engine biulder today about a different direction i wanted to go with the car. we did the basic math (if i did all the work except the motor) i could swap in a 4 rotor for like 12k, only two more then what most spend for a 13bt swap. And guess what? it would be at like 425 hp with 300lb torque!! N/A even...

My guess is that a 4 rotor would be more than 12k. I am pretty sure that the basic kit from kiwi-re is around 9k. That being said there is an awesome thread in the building section here about making one in a cheaper fashion. And even mounting it into a 1st gen...

Hey thanks for the tread!! yea it looks like a great idea but right now i am happy with my baby ported 12a. Although i AM looking at putting a ida style throttle body on the car and running either a microtech or wolf ecu. problem is that the throttle body is like 330.00 and the ecu is like 1000.00 without tps, ox sensor, air temp and density sensor(s). Not to mention the 4x550cc injectors to feed the beast. Oh yea is there a crank position sensor that will fit a 12a?

its been a while since i have made a real update for you all. I have desided the route i want to take to finish the project (for now. the rest will be next year after all this is done. Big brake kit and wheels and shocks and springs are next year). I am going to remove the org. carb and go with the 48 mm weber w/ 36 mm ventries. polished breather tank for the gas and oil. I am going to wrap the header. The mount for for the radiator is going to be redone in cf. most of the stainless is going to be changed to silicone hose (black). I am redoing the dldfis to be nicer to look at. going to use 3 individual white coil mounts with black painted coils. a 2nd gen alt is going in w/ a side mount kit from pineapple (i think it will look better) and it will keep the belt from jumping. going to do a custom oil injection in the manifold (i think that a draw based system with a restricter at the manifold will work) and a sparco seat for the passenger. finally a battery relocation kit in the empty space behind the seat.
