One day, about 3 weeks ago it was -10F and I rolled outta my driveway and headed for the gas station. On the way down the hill, i applied the brakes and i didn't get much pressure. i pushed hard and the pedal kinda made this cracking sound. (I could even feel it) After a while the were just fine. Next day, i hear this squeaking sound comming outta my back passenger side wheel. I would desribe it as "suspension creaking". It went up with speed. A week passes, my mechanic couldn't take it that week("too busy"). I'm rollin back and forth to work everyday and one day i noticed a roaring sound comming from the "rear" area of my car. It sounded just like a 747. I would alwasy look up everytime i would hit 30. It still traveled just fine, even on the interstate. One night in the near futrure, i was driving about 30 and the back right tire locked up on me. I pulled it over right off of a busy street. I put it into gear, IT MOVED. The left one still goes, but that damn right side. I had it towed to my mechanic and he said something about "too much play in the axle" or some garbage like that. I contacted my seller (who sold me the rear end less than a year ago) about it and he said it sounds like a frozen caliper. The mechanic says new rear end or this ain't drivin no more. Anybody with info or input would be my hero right about now. I miss ma 7

So your car was making all of this noise, and you kept on driving it without even checking it?

Update.....The mechanic said it's the axle bearing. He said he will replace that and an axle shaft. He said he might need to change the rear end oil. Otherwise rear end, still good and in working order. I'll let you guys know how much it cost.

Just for future reference, if ya hear noise coming from the rear end of your car while your driving, call in to work man. My friend had an axle snap on a truck of his and he rolled it about 3 or 4 times when the wheel went flying off of it. Just be safe bro.

i'll keep that in mind. The axle bearing plus labor and a 40 dollar retainer piece and towing ($40) cost about $360 total. The axle was still good luckily($400+). Thx for all th help guys!
