One last thought before sleep time.



What do I need to do to the existing oil system on the motor? I'm running premix, which is a good thing since I don't have the OMP.



Can someone lay this out for me? Thanks in advance for any input!

I haven't stopped working on it! I started back work again (this is my 2nd co-op semester) so I've been working nights and weekends on the car. Here is what it looks like as of last night:







I'm having the intercooler piping bent either today or tomorrow. The missing link right now is how to connect the alternator.

Wow. That looks really really...amazing!! I am digging the white powder coated UIM,LIM, and elbow. Is that a greddy elbow also? How are you having problems connecting the alternator? Bolting the bracket to the block and then the alternator to the bracket? Or just lining up the alternator with the pulleys? Are you still using the stock radiator? And what intercooler are you using?

Thanks! It's actually grey in color, but the flash makes it look white. The elbow is the stock elbow for a Cosmo, I just cut it. I don't have the electrical connection needed for the alternator. The radiator is a re-cored stocker and the intercooler is from an NPR diesel truck; it's the "large" version.

Well, I got half! of the intercooler piping done...I bought 3' of 2.5" aluminum from KTeller.com and took it to a bend shop. They needed to know what type of aluminum it was, so I called up KTeller (or chatted with them online, rather) and they assured me it could be bent as it was T1 aircraft aluminum. After a week of not hearing anything, I call the bend shop to find out they broke my aluminum on the bender. As unlucky as that was, they did have two 2.5" prebent elbows that I was able to make into the piece I needed from the TB elbow to the intercooler. The other piece I'm going to have to cut and make my own angles, unfortunately.



I need to wire the relays on the Haltech and then it's ready to go. My BOV flange is going to get welded sometime this week, most likely tomorrow.



The motor and trans need fluid and then maybe I can fire it up! After it runs I'll source a shop to make a driveshaft for me...

aircraft grade Aluminum is 2024. You can not bend 2024. Especially after heat treatment to T-anything. That or it's 7075, which is super high $$$ so I doubt u got that. That can't be bent either.



Almost none of the aluminum alloys can be bent into tight radius. You can kinda bend 6063.

Just buy U joints from burns stainless, cut them up and you will have nice smooth IC pipes..



one u joint might do the whole thing (with straights of course)

There will probably be a lot of welding for the turbo to intercooler pipe, there needs to be about a 110* angle. At least if I make it myself (cut, the welding will be done by someone who welds for Delta) I know it will be as smooth as possible. I can make a million little pieces to weld together, hehe.
