So i've actually had the car running for a few weeks now, but haven't got around to making a post.

This isn't a big project, but i had the parts to do it, so I went ahead and did it.

The run-down is this:

1985 GSL w/ 81K on it - $500 - locked engine

1984 GS engine, good compression 134K miles on it from a $300 parts car

Mods include:

*Racing beat holley bridge port manifold

*Racing beat ignition wires

*Holley 650 carb

*Holley blue pump

*Lots of braided fuel line

*Holley FPR

*Dual alt pulley and belts

*Tokico rear struts

Have, but not installed yet:

*New RB Streetport dual presilencers

I need to get the headers. I have a set of unwelded headers, but no longer have access to a welder so I'll have to get the real deal. Will also need to get the catback from RB too as the stocker is just falling apart.

Future plans are to get tokico struts up front with some RB springs or possible front coilovers, redye the interior panels to match more original coloring, new steering wheel, custom 4 point bar w/ harness mounts and an IMSA front skirt.

Wheels & Tires aren't on the list yet - but I'll probably go with a 14" at which time I'll throw some new rotors and pads on w/ SS lines.

I'm trying to keep this whole deal under $5K which all together I've spent about $800 including the price of the car, but the parts are easily worth $1000 or more (I had them from previous projects, but cant recall what they cost). Rounding it up to about $2k for everything I have in it and its super responsive, and tons of fun.

I've also swapped the rear end fluids and trans fluids for just good 'ol valvoline 90w to keep things in top shape.

Here are the pics (and yes, if money permits - I'll get it painted - or maybe paint it myself)

FYI - 1500 is about the best I can do for idle right now with the 650. Only other issues is it loads up around 4400RPM, but I should be able to smooth that out.

I do plan on running a dyno on it so I can compare to my bridgeport motor once I swap it in. For those wondering why I did this, I basically wanted to drive the car to check out everything else and kill time while I built the engine for it. This way, all i have to do is drop the engine in.
