I think you're forgetting about how camber will be affected there?

Maybe I read your explanation wrong but this is what I think you're saying:

I think your interpreted backwards to what I meant. May have been my explanation.



I have attached a drawing. The 10 Deg. King Pin is from memory and is a rough estimate. Drawings show no camber at the wheel. Obviously you would dial in negative camber but it was easier to draw.



First drawing is stock.

Second drawing is after the mod of 5 Deg. greater king pin inclination.

Third drawing is after the mod. With the strut mounted 5 more degrees negative to bring the king pin back to zero.

This drawing shows center line of strut tubes and center line of wheels to calculate scrub radius.

Left image is stock king pin inclination and zero camber on wheels.

Right image is modified king pin inclination, greater angle on strut tube.



You can see the scrub radius will decrease. You would be required to move the top mount inboard (Camber Plates) in order to get the positive camber out of the wheels. The variable in all of this is how much can you move inboard of the stock strut tower. This will decide how much angle you can add to the spindle and still be able to dial in a bit of negative camber.

all kinds of trickery there. i know back in the pro7 days, the cars ran better at -6 camber (stock wheels, 195 spec tires), but the camber plates only give you -4. so people were bending the body, you can change the struts, the factory solution was to make the lower arm ajustable....

This is how we plan to tackle the FB struts in the Rx2's and rx3's.
