would a clogged cat also cause it to backfire?

I'm pretty sure its a carb issue. Does it also depend on how much throttle you give? If you floor it at 2k it will stumble early; if you slowly wind it out it might go all the way to 5 or 6k before it bogs.



Mine started doing this yesterday. I'm pretty sure your choke butterflies are not fully releasing and its making the car run way too rich. I'll work on mine tonite and get back here if I find out anything.

well I was messing around with it for awhile tonite, it seems to rev better with the filter and box removed so I think its either the secondaries or something else, not sure yet.
