I had a question here but i found it to be stupid, cause my lack of sleep. :sarcasm:

Maybe the cat is bad?? That happened to a van at work. Wouldn't go over 35mph and it had a bad cat. Just a thought.

i just did an atf treatment and that didnt help either
the cat had already been replased with a strait pipe when i had bought it it does have an exaust leak but i dont think that is the prob |
i have not done a compression test on it yet because my mayns says i cant use a regular compression tester on it and the speical tester is around $500 used
the nearest dealer is an 45 min. tow from where i live is there anny way i can check it at home? |
read here for a somewhat of a compression test. it wont give you accurate numbers but it will tell you if theres no compression.

thanks everyone for your help i think it might be a carb prob.
what do you think im waiting for my "7 fund" to build up so i can replace it. does annyone know of a good place to get a carb or rebuild kit fairly cheap thanks and ill keep you posted |
any autoparts store will have a rebuild kit for the nikki. If you want to spend the money, send your carb (or a spare) to Paul Yaw with $300. He will soup that thing up like you would not believe, and still maintain street driveability.
Good Luck, |
Try looking in a junk-yard for a carb. talk to the guy at the junk-yard ask him if the car ran when it came in. It could have just been in an accident and the carb. would be OK thake it off. It's even pre ajusted!- Devon

I know you said the cat was removed, but that was the problem with my 84 GS. It was running fine then one day I went to start it and it ran like crap. i looked under the car and the cat was glowing red. cleaned the cat out and no more problem
