Yeah, I was really surprised at how much better everything looked after simply spraying it down with the hose. As long as I don't end up working next weekend then I'll have the exhaust, turbo, and exhaust mani off. Then I'll finish getting the motor ready to pull out.

This is part of a post from Robert of Rotaryshack on the evil forum:

"that turbo you have there is capable of making 400 hp all day long.. its got a 60mm compressor wheel while the turbine wheel is slightly bigger than a p trim, rayjay turbos were one of the top mfgs. back in the day.."

I know it's not a full list of specs for that turbo, but at least it's a little info for those of you who were curious about it.

interesting find on this car. Far from mint, though. Good luck with it.

Yeah, it's WAY off from mint but I'll fix that problem. I can't wait for this weekend so I can fully bare block the motor and get ready to pull it for rebuild.

i think if it was mine, i would have cleaned the motor and turbo, and just run it, its prolly fine.... although if you're doing a real resto, its gotta come apart anyways....

Ahh, you dont want that old crap. Send me your address and i'll send you the N/A carb, intake, and exhaust setup in trade for that scrap metal you have there.

RXheaven, yeah go ahead and send me your address.

J9fd3s, I hear ya. If I wasn't doing a full out resto then I would've just tried to get it running again. But since everything else is getting torn apart I might as well rebuild everything under the hood too.

Check out snow performance stage II water/meth injection. This will really help cool the intake charge. I would plumb it in after the turbo. I use it with my Camden and it make quite a difference on intake temps.

I would like to run either a Snow Performance or Devil's Own AI kit, but that would be a HUGE change from stock and that's not what I want to do. If this were just a normal FB then I would. In fact, depending on how much I like this draw through setup I might have to pick up a normal GSL and go all out with it.

And sorry that I haven't updated the thread in so long. Work has been a bit rough lately. We have a big inspection going on right now so in prep for that we've been working at least 12 hour shifts with either one or no days off for the past couple of weeks. But things will be back to normal starting this weekend so expect to see some updates with pics by the end of the weekend.
