I didn't measure it, but I would say about 1/4" just from "eyeballing it."

That is a sweet car. IS that a draw through turbo set up? I'm pretty sure its not a blow through cuse theres no hat . What size turbo is that? Is the manifold cast iron? what size- model holley is that? Most important how mutch hp dose it make. If you cant tell I way intrested in the turbo set-up tell me every thing you can.

Yes, it is a draw through setup. It's an old Arkay turbo kit. I'm hoping to be able to get the carb and turbo out of the car this weekend. If so then I'll list up what I can see as well as pics for everyone to look at. I don't have any specs on the turbo as of yet but I will after it gets rebuilt. The Holley is a 4brl. Once again, I don't know what the specs on the carb are. The carb rebuild is being done by Robert at Rotaryshack. The turbo is also going down to Rotaryshack. So after they get rebuilt then I'll be able to let you know the specs on them. And the hp numbers will be listed after the motor is built and broken in. That's going to be quite a while from now though. But keep checking in on the thread as I usually update it with more progress every week.

UPDATE TIME!!!!

Ok, so I went to work under the hood this afternoon. I only worked on it for a couple of hours but I got a few things done. I'm on hold now until I have the time to get under the car to continue what I've started.

Start with the engine compartment all covered with dirt:

And now after I simply hosed it off. No actual cleaning was done, just a fresh water rinse:

Here's the Holley 4brl with the air cleaner off:

Now the clutch fan and fan shroud are removed:

Now the alternator and distributor are removed: (notice how nice and shiny the metal is where the distributor was. )

The carb is off now:

And here's the intake mani that sits underneath the carb:

The two lines on the underside of this mani are coolant lines in case you're wondering

Here are some pics of the turbo. While the kit is from Arkay, the turbo is a Rajay. I'm not familiar with it, but Robert from Rotary Shack was telling me about them. This thing has ZERO shaft play! Granted it only has 17K miles on it but still, I was happy. :

And this turbo is good sized. It's EASILY bigger than the stock FC turbo. I'll be very interested to see exactly what the specs are on it after I send it off to get "freshened up." And the inside of the intake tract is so perfectly clean and shiny. It's funny how great of a job fuel does at keeping things clean. That's it until I can get under the car. Next up will be pulling the exhaust, turbo, exhaust mani, and getting ready to pull the motor itself. Then I'll be on hold until I save up money to buy parts to start the rebuilding process. Hopefully I can save up that money in a timely fashion. We'll just have to wait and see though. As always, thanks for checking in and keeping up with the restoration of my baby.

Wow, it came up well, looks like you might have less work to do that the first few dirty pictures suggested
