well it's been a little, but not too cold here in east texas, but after letting the gs sit for two days i could not start it at all monday morning, choke or any method i know and after about 30 minutes i realized that all i could get it to do was turn over about 1 in every 10 tries, and then promptly die...over the past 2 days i've tried jumping and starting and starting any way i know and the battery seems fine and strong...and occaisionally it turns over, leading me to believe it's not the starter...is it the dreaded carbon lock? help me out guys

If it was carbon lock I doubt it would turn at all.You might have a bad starter.Makes sure nothing has come disconnected first and work from there. Is it getting gas? are the plugs good and not fouled? does it get spark? Will it crank over with the plugs out???If its locked you shouldn't be able to turn it at all.

thanks i'll check the plugs asap, i know that could be a possible problem, but haven't had the time or gumption to check yet....it's good to know it's not carbon lock tho.

Yeah, just do the usual initial checks.

1) Spark (ignition and plugs)

2) Air (Cleaner and hoses)

3) Fuel (lines and hoses to engine)

My 7 did that when it sat. I had a cracked carb body and it would leak gas into the engine and flood. Grrr....
