well, the car doesn't like to run in vacuum anymore.... was playin around with the haltech fattening up the fuel a bit cuz the car was running lean in the 1.5k-3.5k rpm ranges. retarded the timing a few degrees and voila, the turbo is like an on/off switch. if i barely touch the throttle the car coughs sputters and who knows what else, i push the throttle in a bit and boost hits and i'm off and running again. dunno what the deal is..... i got my new turbo as well, just waiting on an s5 manifold so i can install it....

Not very knowledgeable on the efi setups, but....

vacumn/boost leak perhaps?? could be a leak is acting like a check valve, so whenever the engine is vacumning it sucks the leak open, and it boosts it pressurizes the leak closed??

Thats just something i made up. it may help or it may be whack... but perhaps something to consider!

What happened to make this happen? or has it always done this? (i.e. what did you change to cause this)

the car has always done this when it was hot outside, now its doing it at night too. when i first got it running there were tons of vaccum/boost leaks, i've gotten all of them plugged up or what not and done a boost leak test and it held boost perfectly fine. dunno what the deal is.....

i stuck a crappy autometer a/f gauge on the car, says inbetween 2k-4k its running lean when im in vacuum. i kept putting fuel in till it started to richen up when it was all said and done i had the injectors spraying almost 10 ms in vacuum! i don't know why the car is requiring so much fuel inbetween that rpm range, i need to put a fuel pressure gauge on it to see if i'm lossing fuel pressure.
