If the carb isn't getting any fuel theres a good chance theres a clog there.Especially if you bought the car with no fuel filter.Somethings not right there. :squint:

well if the fuel in the sight glass is level, then where should i be looking? fuel lines or carb??? and its raing so i cant take apart the fuel lines:(

Racer X 01-29-2003 07:59 PM

Is there fuel in the sight glass?

Hereonout 01-30-2003 12:39 PM

yes, and its at the halfway mark when running

Racer X 01-30-2003 04:59 PM

I think thats good then. It's been awhile since I had a nikki. Can you hear the pump running?I thought it wasn't running?

Hereonout 02-02-2003 01:58 AM

no i can hear it, its running. but like i said, if fuel in the sight glass is halfway, doesnt that mean the carb is getting the right amount of fuel???

Racer X 02-02-2003 05:32 AM

geez I can remember if thats the right amount or not.Do you know anyone that might have a stock carbed FB?You might need to find a running one and see that on it to make sure.Mike might know tho.He has enough first gens.

from what i can tell i think the carb is running fine. but when i took the carb off, i noticed some sort of throttle valve looking thing on the intake manifold, not attached to the carb. what the **** is that, i cant find it anywhere in the manuals. and it looks like it is stuck open, i see no rods or anything attached to it to make it open or close. when the weather perks up a bit im going to take the carb back off and take a closer lok. i just remembered when i took it off originally i noticed it then and it didnt seem right, but im going to take a closer look soon. the fuel lines seem to be fine, seem to be great for how old it is really. no trash or rust. and from what i can tell the carb is ok too. so im running VERY low on options here.

I would say your options are low but that might be a good thing.
