I have worked on doing this and the only thing holding me up really is the dash. Any ideas??? Has anyone else done this? I really want to get rid of the red completely and go with blue. I will also be doing this to my other car (red to black) so any and all help is appreciated. If you have pics that would help alot. Any hidden screws/bolts that I should be worried about? Thanks,

Ian

Theres four bolts behind the side panels on the dash and some screws on the center console portion. If I can remember right theres a few around the vents up by the windshield too.Good luck on pulling it.Putting first gen dashes in is a pain.

When I stripped my original GSL-SE to put all the parts on an 83 I tried to get the dash out and could not. I'm pretty sure that it can't be done on GSL-SE without taking the windsheild out, there just no room to get to some of the bolts. There's a write up here... good luck. In my attempt I ended up cracking the windshield that I wanted to save and also cracking the dash. I've since decided that I like the 83 dash better anyway...

yeah, it can be done pretty easily. I had no real problems.

Take out both seats so you can lie on your back. Get a torch(flashlight) and a socket set with some extensions. There are a heap of hidden bolts, but just undo all that you see, then wiggle the dash to see where its being held.
