Intakes and Exhaust manifolds!

I roasted my GSL-SE Engine(No oil after a race does that)Non I know a series 4 engine I can just bolt the header and intake manifold to but can I use the complete intake manifold and header on the series 5 engine?????

they kept all the same bolt patterns between 84-91 on the na's, the only differences are little things, like they moved around the air injector ports. the only thing i see might be a problem is maybe it leaves something open

Sweet.I might look into finding series 5 engine up here then. I know I will need the pan,OMP,oil pickup,front cover and mount off the SE engine what else do I need?

Thanks.It helps a little.So I need to use my upper intake mated to a stock FC lower intake the engine comes with?What else do I need off this SE engine before I send it to file 13?I know for sure the cover,OMP,and oil pan.What else am I forgetting?

my gsl-se has an 88 block with the stock gslse manifolds and the only thing is the air injections doesnt line up, so some one has illegally smogged it since 91 (when the motor was put in).

you need the oil pan and pickup, front cover and omp. the 89+ throttle body has a spacer instead of the metering pump rod so you can have a mechanical pump.

The SE upper will not mate with FC lower. Just take the FC block, strip it, and bolt on all of the SE stuff, (front cover, yadda, yadda)



Leave the fly wheels alone, however, or get a light weight fly for the FC motor you intend to use :bigok: .

I found a SE engine so for now this FB will get another one.I want to buy another FB in the fall and do a T2 swap anyways.I will take the parts off this old SE engine and keep them for a future swap.I LOVE FB'S!
