The reason i'm so pissed is because i just got it back from the shop 6 months ago and spent 3k in "repairs" i wish i would have known what i do now about cars or i would have NEVER taken it to a dealership.
Ooooh. You took it to the stealership. No wonder you're unhappy

Learning them yourself is the only way to go with these cars.

My mother took it to the dealer for me as a "surprize" yeah, i was surprized... i'm still pissed that she would do that without my permission, the car is registered and insured under my name, not hers. She completely wasted $3k to make me "happy" and all it did was **** me off. Money is tight for us, she's a single parent trying to pay the bills as a school teacher, i can't believe she'd waste $3k like that.

I don't think you learned anything from the experience, you bought a used car and determined the issue was the rotary engine, which is unfortunate because unless you REALLY laern something from this you'll have a similar experience with your future used car purchases. What needs to be taken away from this is, you bought an old used car, you some problems, how well did you look over the car when you bought it, did you take it to a mechanic, how well did the preivous owner maintain it?

All thses and several HUNDRED other questions should be asked when you buy an older used car and yet all you will ask next time you go shopping is "Does it have a rotary engine".

I understand your frustration, but I hope you take something more away from it. My guess is you are fairly young and prolly havent owned many cars, let's just hope you don't look back on this car as one of the MANY bad vehicle purchase decisions.

i know it sucks to have your car engine die. mines expired less than a year after i bought it. it did have close to 170k miles and i beat on it. so i kinda understand your frustation. but dont blame it all on the engine itself. i dunno if it ever ran good or at least decent, but there could have been a few of things that made the engine not idle correctly. it is an extremely old car things are bound to to stop operating correctly or get worn out.

all i can say is that u sound like u never had that true love for the rotary engine. go get a civic.(and when u realise that u were just mad and didnt mean anything u said bout the rotary, disregard what i just said)

I didn't know anything about the car when i bought it, i barely even knew what a rotary engine was. The guy lied to me and i assumed he was correct because i knew nothing about the motors. I've learned from my mistakes and if i ever did consider buying another rx-7 i'll know the right questions to ask and what to look out for. It's just a shame i'm going to have to part with my gsl-se. Maybe i'll get lucky and be rear ended or smashed into by a drunk driver before the engine goes completely out.
