Ok im sick of my Stock fuel pump/regulator setup. My fuel pump fitting leaks when its cold out and Im thinking I got high RPM Fade. Im thinking about a MSD or Mallory fuel pump and a high flow fuel pressure regulator, but the person I spoke with at Mazdatrix says that if I do that it wont idle correctly. Why not? Im trying to get this lack of fuel pressure fixed and also maybe get a little more speed out of the car at the strip. Wont pull as hard as my 12 A did near redline (Takes its time from 6k - 7k) . I have a racing beat header and high flow cat, the secondary ports are working, and I also have a cold air setup so my air flows from in front of the radiator into the AFM. So what can I do cheaply to get more power and keep the fuel injection? Thanks !!

Damn I wanted a gsl-se so much I traded my 79 for it and its great but slow. I think I should be faster than 16.8 at 80 mph in the qurter (well probably would be if I was a better racer LOL)

Ya

Some thread dressing or teflon tape should take care of your leak which is prabaly responsable for some if not all of your performance issus. Also make sure those threads are clean and then retighten them. There maybe a little debrie stuck and blocking the fitting from going all the way in. But if all that doesn't work and you still want to get a new pump I don't see a problem with that as long as it's got the right pressure and volume numbers. You also should be able to keep the stock reg.
