racing beat aluminum flywheel, underdrive pulleys, get an electric radiator fan....these will free up some horsepower, get a better clutch to make sure you can put it to the floor, richen up the fuel and air mixture and add the MSD ignition system or just upgrade your ignition system a bit. Cold air induction.

basically lighten up all your rotating mass, get lighter wheels (aluminum), drilled or slotted brake rotors, wish someone made aluminum driveshafts for the sevens start looking at gear ratios of other gearboxes from diffrent year sevens- all 79-91 5spd can be used in your gsl-se with little to no mods. I gotta get my brain working a bit and start thinking what all I had done to my SE before getting into the porting and other goodies.

just keep in mind it easier to get a 2000lb car going than a 2800lb

OK: Take your engine in parts. Rotorhousings from an Turbo, Rotors from an 90-91 GXL-FC, because the Compression rate is 9,7:1. Then Flywheel and so on. Intake-bridge for an Carb, the best is an Mikuni, another Fuelpump, Freeflow exhaust, an soon you get your 180 up to 200 HP.

I tried it in Germany and it works. But think about your Brake system.

But now i got a Turboengine in the car and it is much better.
