I posted this on the 'other' forum and nobody has replied yet. Since I am an impatient bastard I'm posting it here too. Anyways, here's a cut and paste.

I bought a Holley Fuel Pressure Regulator, Holley PN 12-803, and have a quick question before I install it tomorrow.



It has a Single Inlet, and Dual Outlet (for 2 carbs). Somehow I overlooked that fact, but it may be advantageous. The car is an 84 GSL-SE that has been carbed. Right now, it has a single inlet, dual outlet fuel filter (one to carb, one to return line). I was curious if I could run one of the outlets on the FPR to the Carb, and the other to the return line? Or would that cause the pressure to drop off, defeating the purpose? The instructions make no mention of it, just say for single carbs, plug one side and use the other.

Or, should I just plug it as I have read here about having to do that with the RB setup (my holley is NOT an RB modded one)?



Plugging the return line seems to be the way to go, just want other opinions.

run the supply line to the regulator. from the reg out to the carb. on the other out from the reg put a gauge. and block off the return line. at least that show it works for my dellorto set up.

i've got the same pressure reg you have. i'm using the two outlets to feed both bowls on my 4barrel. i havent bought a fancy chrome duel feed line. anyways, when i hooked it up, one line out of the reg was longer than the other and i got differnt pressures in each line. to make a long story short, the pressure in the line going to my primarys was constant no matter what i did on the other side of the y. i personnaly wouldnt hook it to the return line, but i think you could do it. there's a fellow who visits this site from time to time, mrmasda, he can probably answer any carb setup qeustions you have. he's helped me alot. hope this helps

I'm just going the route of plugging the return and putting the supply to the inlet and the outlet to the carb.

From what I'm reading it's probably the pump that's causing my problem, since I keep reading to plug the return when using a purolator pump (wasn't my car yet). It seems like my fuel bowls are draining and the pump isn't filling them back up fast enough. Like after just about 20 minutes of idling, warming up, etc, it totally runs like ***. Sounds like a lawnmower or something. You give it gas and it just dies when the plates open up. I didn't get a chance to look at the accel pump squirt but i'm sure it was crappy. Anyways... yea i'm doing the plugged return line route. Thanks for the info guys!
