Well, I measured the output today it's @2cc/6 min.

when I left work, I didn't need to use the choke, so I didn't.

She still smoked above 3000rpm for the first 2-3min.

Would not having a thermostat have anything to do with this problem?

It never warms up past the first mark.
Your not running a thermostat???Why?Does it smoke in high rpm range? How bad?You might have a bad oil seal.

It didn't have a thermostat in it when I got it.

I guess I should put one in.

yes, ^4000 it smokes. after 3-4 minutes it stops and I can

go all the way to buzzz (oops! shift!) without smoking

I guess I'd better start looking for parts?

As long as it doesn't smoke constantly then its not too bad yet.But builing a engine on the side can be fun.It prolly would be a good thing to put a thermostat in tho.

The choke will cut out as soon as the tempature hits a certain spot.So adding a thermostat will sovle that problem anyways.

What type of oil do you use for premix? And what ratio do you premix at?

As long as it doesn't smoke in the higher rpms I wouldn't worry about it unless it gets worse, It's just a rotory thing to smoke, they all do, especially on start up.
