help, low coolant sensor

coolant leaking from the sensor. got new gasket no joy. pulled sensor x2, sensor cracked got new sensor. went to pull and replace even i could do this,however, now it won't come out or tighten. i think the plastic collar with the threads has broken off in the rad. maybe 1/2 inch gap but won't come out. q? IF i can't get it out would it be o. k. to j b weld it in place until i can get another rad.? thanks for any help/ ideas. 83 gsl.

If you do that the new sensor won't come out of the old radiator so you'll have to by another. Try sticking a flat tip screwdriver in at an angle and tap the broken piece out. Angle with the threads for best results

Get the sensor out first, the worst that will happen is the sensor will break lol

tpg thanks for your quick reply/help. i cut the top off the old sensor. worked the plastic collar out of the rad. with 2 small flat tip screw drivers & a little help from my friends. i changed over the gasket, put in the new sensor all is groovy. small victories, attainable goals. again thanks.

Lol no problem. Wait till you have to figure out how to get a bolt out of the intake manifold that's broken off flat with the mounting surface. I have a ford at work that I have to do that on tomorrow
